The last one.

I can’t believe we are on our final session, it is happened pretty fast! At the beginning I do not enjoy stay at the University just for this Class, because I think it will be so hard and I will don’t understand anything. But when I realize it is a comfortable environment, I was relieved. So, in retrospect, I can say I enjoy write this blog more than expected, and know more about my likes and dislikes, because I do not have the chance of think about it often, and the blog make me think about it.
I think write this blog help me to improve my English, because wri
te it is some of the hardest things to me on English, and because of that, I never try too hard. But the blog give me the choice (In fact, forced me) to do it, and I believe it really works.
Besides, I think write it is one of the most important things if you are learning a new language and I never practice before, because it is hard with forty five classmates, so I really appreciate that in this class, we are not too many. I must say that most of the topics are good, or at least, it is easy to write about them.
Finally, I can say that I think this is a good way to teach English, because you can learn how to handle many skills, and you can improve your vocabulary a lot. I really recommend a blog if you want to learn a little more of English.

I think that's all. So, Goodbye :D

My favourite book

Choose my favourite book it is hard, because I like a lot of books.
But, I going to choose the George Orwell book, 1984. This book it is a dystopia, it is means thet tell us about an horrific future. I read it when I was on school, and when I start to read, I think it will be bored. But when I going forward, i really can not stop reading. It an amazing book, because, besides being very well written and keeps your interest on it; talk about a pretty interesting topic, and I love the way this book addresses this issue, because it is original and clear. After reading this book, my reality perception changes, because although it was written a long time ago, what it say is applicable for nowdays. The book it is about a men (Winston Smith), who is a disenchanted party member. He works for the Ministry of Truth rewriting old news which disagrees with current party thinking. He lives in what was Great Britain but is now part of the huge nation of Oceania. This nation is perpetually at war with either Eurasia or Eastasia. When Oceania changes its allegiance between these two nations all newspapers are altered accordingly, so that it appears Oceania is always at war with the same foe. But Winston does not agree with that, and he think he found someone like him. It is a girl (Julia), and they fall in love. They try t olive a different life, but they are constantly harassed by the “Big Brother who knows and sees everything (like a God). Obviously I am not going to tell you the end, because I hope everybody read it.

The photograph I like the most

I took this photograph about four months ago, a Sunday morning on my house, when my mom was doing the housework. It is shows my dog, Tofi. Ride now he is about six moths, but when I took this picture, he has two months and it is really hard to take a photo of him, because he never stay quiet, and he was always chasing my mom, or biting anything; so when I saw him calm between the sheets, I immediately run for my camera and I get this beautiful picture.

I like it because my dog has an amazing expression on him eyes, and he look
straight to the camera, and I took it in the accurate moment, because one second after i took the photograph, he hear something and he start to bark.

I think the picture have beautiful colors too, because the blue on the sheets highlights the brown color of my dog, and the right angle, because it looks like he was posing for the photo. I also like this picture because Tofi looks so cute, and ride now he do not look like that, so I enjoy remeber when he was a little dog.

Unfortunately
I do not have many pictures of him, and he is on my grandparents’ house now, so I can not see him everyday. But when I miss him I saw this picture, and everybody on my house do the seem thing. Because we all love this photo.

The best day of my life.

The best day of my life was when I traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was when I was eleven years old, and I had never traveled by plane, so it was so exciting. My mom live there for two years, so she had a friend there who show us everything, and this is the best part, because there is a lot of intrestings stuff that travel agencies don’t show you, so I can see the “real” Buenos Aires, not the one for the tourist.
I remember I eat the best barbecue ever, and they made it on hot stones, and it was absolutely delicious. We wake up early everyday and we sleep for a few hours because we want to know everything. Obviously we have not enough time, but we know Caminito, La Bombonera, Luna Park, La casa Rosada, the Obelisco, Puerto Madero and a lot of other places I can’t remember ride now. Also we sail on the Rio de la plata, and we share a “mate” with the family of my mom friend, and I realized Argentine and Chilean families are pretty different in a lot of things.
I consider this trip so important because it was the first time I go to another country, and I stay in an elegant hotel. Besides, my mom always spoke a lot about Buenos Aires and was pretty cool see the places that she mentioned, and meet her friends. I hope someday come back there, because I think it is an amazing place.

My favourite piece of technology.

My favourite piece of technology is my computer. A computer is a programmable machine. This means it can execute a programmed list of instructions and respond to new instructions that it is given, in a few words.

I got one since I was a little girl (7 years old), but obviosly I change it pretty often. Actually there is two computers on my home.

I use it for a lot of things, like study, listen music, saw photos and visit web pages. I used every day, but for a half or an hour if I don’t have university papers or work to do on it.

I like it, because I believe it is pretty usefull, you can do a lot of intresting stuffs, and is amazing how it help you to do every days works, and to comunicate with a lot of people.

How would my life be without my computer? Probably I used my pen and notebook much more, and I can’t get all the information I need, because Internet give us a lot of information, and this information is not in any other place. I believe computer it is a great invention, and nowdays, absolutly essential for a lot of us.

I'd like to visit... Verona

Definitely my favorite country is Italy, so I hope someday I can go there. I love a lot of Italian cities, but the first in my list is Verona. I think Verona is the most beautiful city ever. It has a incredible architecture, and a lot of amazing places to visit, like the “casa de Giulietta”, the “Arci dei Gavi” or the Basilica of San Zeno Maggiore. In fact, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Besides you can sail on Verona’s waterways, a pretty unusual and unique experience.
I don’t really sure about if I like to live on this city, because I believe it is hard to get fast anywhere, cause there is some places where the only transportation is by boats, and this is not very comfortable. Another stuff I’m not sure if I can endure is to live a winter there.
I would go by my own, because I feel this give you more freedom to do whatever you want.
Actually I’m not saving money for this trip, but I expect than during my first job year I can get money and go there, and if I’m lucky, know another Italian cities, as Rome, Florence and Milan

Music I hear when I feel sad...

When I am sad I always listen to Babasonicos, because I really like their music and I enjoy sing their songs when I want to cheer up. Besides, some of their music is pretty relaxing and makes you feel very quiet, but whatever, they play rock music, so they have some music that is not very calm, but I like it too, cause you can free your emotions whit this kind of songs.I also listen to Chico Trujillo, because they transmitted a lot of energy in their songs, and I think it really helps when you feel unhappy. Further, the lyrics of some of their songs are funny, so is it enjoyable to hear it.I truly believe music help a lot when you do not feel very well, because you can forget about everything when you listen to your favorites songs. I discover music, sometimes, can make you change the way you feel in a certein moment, and it is pretty important know how can affect you. Finally, I can say music it is an awesome therapy for a lot of different problems and you must know how to use it for the sad moments in your lifetime.

Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?

I admire Stanley Milgram. He was born on 1933 to a Jewish family in New york city. His father was Hungarian and his mother, Romanian. In 1954, Milgram received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Queens College, New York. He applied to a Ph. D. program in social psychology at Harvard University and was initially rejected due to an insufficient background in psychology (he had not taken one undergraduate course in psychology while attending Queens College). He was eventually accepted to Harvard in 1954. He die on 1984, because a heart failure. He was made a lot of interesting experiments, but there is two that I think are the most importants: Small World Phenomenon, also known as the six degrees of separation; and the controversial Milgram's Experiment 18: A Peer Administers Shocks. What I like about him is that he was a very innonative man and he provided a lot of new ideas to the psychology. Currently some of his methods aren’t ethically accepted, but we can’t deny how important the information he give us is, and how all his work allows a better understanding of human beings.

Welcome

Hi! My name is Camila Luna and I’m eighteen years old. I’m in my first year here, on the Universidad de Chile, studing psychology. I live far away, actually I spend one hour every day to come here, if I’m lucky.
I studied on the Liceo Carmela Carvajal de Prat, and the best thing about it is meet a lot of people here, cause almost all my classmates study on this university.

I hope everybody have a nice day!
